Ewen MacDonald is a
retired secondary school teacher who has lived in Hamilton for almost 50
years.
His urns are made
from native timber (Heart Rimu and Tawa) that has been salvaged from a school
building that was demolished in 2013. Ewen is pleased that the has been
repurposed for another good use.
The Oregon Pine urns
are made from wood that was imported into NZ in the 1950's and salvaged from
demolition. The timber has an unusually tight grain from
having grown in a very cold climate and is unlike any timber grown in New
Zealand.
Every urn is finished
to the highest standard and perfectly sealed with four coats of finishing oil.
The resulting product has a smooth finish to it that is very durable.
Internal Dimensions
275 x 140 x 125mm
These cannot be
engraved due to the finishing oil applied.
